1st Mariner Arena 2011-2012 Concert Tickets

The 1st Mariner Arena is located in Baltimore Maryland and was originally known as the Baltimore Arena and Baltimore Civic Center. 1st Mariner Bank purchased the right to name the arena for the next 10 years in 2003. The bank has to pay the city of Baltimore $75,000 over the next 10 years in order to keep the naming rights to the complex.

This venue is conveniently located on the corner of Baltimore Street and Hopkins Place and is very near the Inner Harbor area of Baltimore. Depending on the event, the 1st Mariner Arena can comfortably seat about 14,000 fans.

Some interesting tidbits about the 1st Mariner Arena is that it originally opened about 50 years ago in 1962 as the Baltimore Civic Center. It sits on the historic site of the “Old Congress Hall.” In 1776, the Continental Congress convened here. A cornerstone is on this property which includes messages from John F. Kennedy, J. Millard Tawes (a former Maryland governor) and J. Harold Grady (the mayor of Baltimore in the early 60′s.)

Not only is the 1st Mariner Arena a great place to see concerts, it is also a fine venue to see events like the Arena Motorcross, WWE, Shogun Fights and more. The location of the 1st Mariner Arena makes it easily accessible from any part of Baltimore.
