Jason Thomas Mraz was born on June 23, 1977 in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Mraz‘s music and singing is mainly constituted of reggae, pop, folk, rock, jazz, bossa nova and hip hop.  Mraz used to go to Lee- Davis High School and when he was a bit grown up, he participated in local theatre with School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community.  In 1995, he graduated and studied musical theatre in The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City.

Mraz released his first live acoustic album by the title Live at Java Joe’s in 2001which featured his freelancing vocal style and songs like “1000 Things,” “You and I Both” and “Half Way Home.”  Mraz released his first major label debut album in 2002.  It was named Waiting for My Rocket to Come.  It proved to a breakthrough success for his music career by reaching at number 55 on the Billboard Hot 200 and number two on the Top Heatseekers Chart.  Its single “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry)” was included in the top 20 single on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped at number 15.  ”I’ll Do Anything” was another hit single from this album.

The album received a warm reception and it peaked at number 5 on the Billboard 200 album chart.  It also earned Mraz a Grammy nomination for Best Engineered Album, Non Classical in December of that year. One of its tracks “Life is Wonderful” was a big hit and it was featured in the Hilton Journeys Hotel commercial.  Later, Mraz went on a tour to support the album. On May, 2006, he performed at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut.

Jason released his, live, only-online album in December 2006 by the title “Selections for Friends” which featured his favorite songs from the Schubas Tavern and Villa Montalvo shows, he played in July 2006. His single “Geek in the Pink” was performed by Chris Richardson, an American Idol contestant and it added the popularity of the song. It immediately jumped at number 22 on the U.S iTunes Store on March 10, 2007. He provided background vocals on Mandy Moore’s song Slummin’ in Paradise.

Jason’s next album “We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things,” was released in early 2008. It received a high level of admiration and topped at number three on the Billboard Hot 200. It was his highest charting album to date. Its lead single “I’m Yours” reached at Top Three in Australia and the U.S and also it broke into the Top Ten on many international music charts. It topped at number one on AAA radio charts in the U.S. it earned Jason the Grammy nomination.

On October 5, 2010, his EP was released by the title “Life is Good” which included the recordings from his concerts from Maine to the Life is Good Festival in Canton, Massachusetts.  It has been announced and confirmed that Jason’s new album will be launched in early 2012.  Surely it will be hard for the fans to wait this much but undoubtedly; it would be great like his previous albums.
